Last night I learned my new neighbours are not a monstrous faceless occupying mob. They are our moral conscience reminding us – with every blow of their horns – what we should have never forgotten: We are not a country that makes an untouchable class out of our citizens.”

8-That Canadian could just as easily have been an American. In closing, and I thank you for your patience as I have thought long and hard about what to say tonight, I am pro-freedom, pro-truth, pro-honest transparency and pro-data that is factually presented. I am in no way perfect. But, I believe I am open to everyone’s thoughts and opinions and want to hear them. I ask our community to be patient a little longer, allow us as trustees to sift through any health department or state government guidelines that may be forthcoming after the February 15 mandate ends, and allow for a thorough and calm discourse on the next steps to be taken.

Please note, and it can be read from the Public Health and Medical Emergency Powers manual available online … It states that a declared  emergency should be ended as quickly as possible once the emergency is over … but it also states that the governor or the state legislature has to declare the emergency over … and with it … the overreaching powers that accompanied the decree of a state of emergency in California in the first place.

So, at the same time, I implore you all to write personal letters and emails to your state senator Josh Newman, who co-authored two bills, SB866 Minors Vaccine Consent which gives 12 year olds the right to take the COVID shot without parental/guardian permission as well as SB871 which would not only mandate COVID shots before students are admitted to school, it would, and I quote from the language of the bill, “The bill would additionally prohibit the governing authority of a school or other institution from unconditionally admitting any person as a pupil of any public or private elementary or secondary school, childcare center, day nursery, nursery school, family day care home, or development center, unless prior to their admission to that institution they have been fully immunized against COVID-19.”

I would also impore you to write to your assemblyperson, Phillip Chen, and let him know your opinions. In addition, please write the governor, the attorney general, and those who are making the health decisions for the nearly forty million Californians.

Why is it important to write your opinion, whether for or against, these two bills? These bills tie the hands of the governing body, which for our district, is the school board. Just to be clear, I have researched the list of immunizations that are currently required. I have done that research with the aid of two physicians. None of these innoculations currently on the list, are yearly shots. Tetanus lasts for 10 years in adults, the others on the list appear to be shots that are lifetime immunity shots. Can anyone say the same about the COVID19 shot?

Again, I thank you for your patience. These are my thoughts, my closing remarks during a time of hopeful change and return to normalcy. We as a board are trying to do the best possible, please help us in any way you can.
